Advice Night Wednesday 23 March, 4.30pm-7.30pm

What next? Life after school

If you’re ready to leave school after your GCSEs, you need to know about the huge range of options available to you, including:

- Studying at a further education college
- Studying at sixth form
- Starting work and getting on-the-job training
- Getting an apprenticeship

Redbridge College is holding an Advice Night on Wednesday 23 March between 4.30pm-7.30pm to help you make the best choice for you. You’ll be able to speak to our careers advisor, teaching staff, and current students to find out more about careers, courses and college life.

You will be able to:

- Speak to an impartial careers advisor
- Ask our current students what college is like
- Discuss which course is right for you with our teaching staff
- Find out about financial support
- Find out how we can support you to succeed if you have a learning disability or difficulty

Earn to learn: vocational courses that lead to careers
Our courses provide a practical, hands-on approach to learning and can be taken instead of A Levels. They are designed to help you progress on to university or straight into employment. As an extra bonus, there are no exams – vocational courses are assessed by written assignments, tests and practical work.

Why choose college?
At college you are treated like an adult – you will need to ensure you attend college on the days you have lessons (usually three or four days per week) and manage your own study time. There’s no college-wide uniform (except for certain courses such as Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Catering) and there’s a full programme of enrichment activities and events, including trips to Paris and New York. You can also get paid for coming to college; depending on your household income you could earn up to £30 a week under the Education Maintenance Allowance scheme.

Support

If you would like support with communication, or have any other requirements that we can support you with, please contact Sarah Plater ahead of the event by emailing splater@redbridge-college.ac.uk with details. We will endeavour to provide a Communication Support Worker or whatever support you need, where this is possible.

Interested? Simply pop in on the night or call 020 8548 7431 for more details.
