Mashiyat finishes off term with a snowball fight

Its time to get your Christmas stockings out as the Christmas holidays have finally arrived and we’ve finished our first full term of college! All coursework for the autumn term modules has been handed in today and I’m now looking forward to starting new topics next term. In particular I’m looking forward to studying E-Commerce with my teacher Ghassan, this should be exciting as we will be learning about the technical side of IT and how to design, build and upload an effective e-commerce website.

I spent Monday in a one-to-one session with my tutor working through the areas of an assignment which I wanted to improve. My tutor is so helpful in these sessions and it really gives me the final push I need to complete assignments that I am really happy with.

On Wednesday afternoon I took part in my chosen enrichment activity – basic baking. It was brilliant and as it is the last week of term before the Christmas holidays we spent the session baking Christmas cakes. Mine looks really fantastic and if it tastes as good as it looks then I will be happy. If my plans on a career in IT don’t work out then maybe I have a future in catering..!

After a long day studying on Thursday it was time for the Student Christmas Ball in the evening. I had a brilliant time and met lots of new people. The DJ was fantastic and my friend even won a digital camera in the prize draw that every ticket was entered into! Now that it is snowing it feels like Christmas and I am looking forward to relaxing and spending time with my family over the holiday, but don’t worry I will be back blogging in the New Year!
