Redbridge College is officially number one in Greater London
It’s official! Redbridge College is the top performing college in Greater London.
Statistics published by the government for 2010/11 rank Redbridge College as number one for learner success rates out of 32 further education colleges in the inner and outer areas of the capital.
The college achieved an overall success rate of 87.8 per cent during 2010/11, which even saw it placed within the top 10 performing further education colleges in England.
Redbridge College Principal, Theresa Drowley, said: “I am incredibly proud of the remarkable success we achieve here, which is a testament to the dedication of our staff.
“The success rate figures exemplify the high expectations we have for our learners – we are inspiring them to focus and build upon their strengths, to prepare them for university of the world of work.
“We promote a culture of high expectation and achievement, but we underpin this with an incredible level of support – we are a caring college with high aspirations for our learners.”
The success rate figures measure learner achievement on full-time and short courses at the college.
And the figures make Redbridge College the further education college of choice for learners living in Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Newham, and beyond.
Redbridge College has more than 3,500 learners – who speak more than 65 languages – enrolled on courses across 15 subject areas.
Graded as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ features by Ofsted in 2010, Redbridge College provides vocational qualifications for careers as diverse as hairdressing, hospitality and social care, with facilities designed to provide learners with all the practical experience they need.
