We want to make sure that while you are here with us at the College, you are supported throughout your studies. There is lots of support available to you, as outlined below. We will go the extra mile to help you succeed in your studies - we are focused on your success!
Learner Financial Support (LFS)
The Learner Financial Support team offers information and advice to students on financial aid including:
- The Learner Support Funds
- Adult Learning Grant
- Educational Grants from Family Action
- Support with childcare costs
- Kit requirements for courses
- Student travel cards

Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
The LRC can offer support for students with applications to Higher Education (UCAS forms). Appointments can be arranged for students to meet with dedicated and qualified careers advisers from Connexions by calling Debbie Shepherd on 020 8548 7118. Support will also be given for applications for employment.
Twilight sessions are held in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) to help and support you with completing assignments.
Connexions Personal Advisors
Connexions is a service for young people aged 14-19 or up to 25 for people with special needs. The Personal Advisors offer a service to young people who need advice on benefits, housing, drugs, finances and homelessness. They are in College each week. Learning Support

All full time students are allocated a Student Mentor to help them set and achieve targets and to support them in completing their course.
Physical Disabilities
Students with physical disabilities can access all parts of the college via lifts, automatic doors and specialist facilities for wheelchair users. We can also provide special arrangments to help you in the classroom, around the college and during examinations. Call 020 8548 7157 for more information.
Counselling
For any personal problems that are worrying you, a Student Counsellor is available in College to support you and help you think and talk through your problem. To conatct our counsellor please call 020 8548 7157/7135.
Childcare
There is an on-site nursery at the Chadwell Heath Campus, which is run by the London Borough of Redbridge. The centre has 32 places for children aged between three months and five years. The opening hours are 8.45am to 5pm Monday to Friday during term time. Places are available for half days and full days. For more information and fees contact the manager on 020 8597 1616.
